Having Willie around had begun to pay off as far as movement is concerned: I am really moving A LOT! The movement is more than I have had to do in a very long time, so there are some days and nights when I simply do not want to move anymore and am thankful when the husband takes Little Bit out for me.
Yeah, that’s right Little Bit. Yes, I know he is going to be an exceptionally large dog and he isn’t going to be so small for very much longer – we have had to loosen his collar already! – But he is my Little Bit now and just may be for the rest of his life no matter how big he gets!
The training is going relatively well, too. We haven’t worked on anything yet today. We will, I just have to get more housework done, a bit more writing, and a printing off of a copy of a contract, scanning it, etc.
THAT’S RIGHT! I said the magic words! I can’t give you details now, but as soon as I can I will. I am so excited! I can’t wait for the next writer’s meeting to share this with them! Hopefully. It has been hard keeping this info to myself; I will tell Carlos when he gets home, but he’s my husband, and he lives with me. You know, it would be impossible keeping this quiet from him! Plus, he can help me celebrate! J
Gabby, Chewie, and Willie have already gotten some treats in celebration of the news. They also received a treat because they all lined up and sat perfectly together! I am such a proud momma! The work I am doing with Willie is affecting them all positively.
Chewie has been the most advanced between him and Gabby. When I finally get Willie to do something Chewie will watch him and usually mimic him, so, essentially, I am training two dogs. This is all old routine to Gabby and she lets me know very frankly she is just humoring me through this entire process. I don’t try to make Gabby go through the commands either. There is no doubt she would do them, but it would cause her such pain and discomfort I am not going to force her. This means, of course, her royal majesty gets to lie in front of the fireplace, snooze, and be the royal queen she is of this fair kingdom.
The thing giving me the most trouble is walking Willie. Carlos lets Willie walk out in front of him because he is also walking the other two because he is strong like that, so when Willie and I walk together there is confusion for the first . Carlos is also trying to get me to put the extenda-leash into my left hand, which is a very logical thing to do. It doesn’t work so well. My hand I mean. So we are having issues learning on both sides. Even with all of this going on, Willie is doing better in the potty-training area. There are still accidents, but are fewer and farther between. If I get him out in time, though, we’re all good.
